HOUSTON (June 13, 2025) – Houston Dynamo FC return to MLS action on Saturday, June 14, hosting CF Montréal at Shell Energy Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. Entering last week’s international break, Houston wrapped up a busy month of May with nine matches across all competitions, securing three clean sheet victories and scoring 17 goals, while earning 10 points in MLS play.
Following Saturday’s match, the Club will also host the Battle of the Badges, where fans can stick around to watch the Houston Police Department (HPD) and Houston Fire Department (HFD) face off on the pitch.
Currently, forward Ezequiel Ponce leads the team’s attack with six goals across all competitions, including four in regular season play. Defender Griffin Dorsey leads the team in distribution with six assists, followed by midfielder Jack McGlynn with five.
Notably, defender Franco Escobar could potentially hit a milestone this weekend, as he nears his 150th MLS regular season appearance.
The Dynamo are coming off a 3-1 home defeat to Sporting Kansas City on May 31. Despite the result, midfielder Sebastian Kowalczyk scored his first goal of the season, while midfielder Ondřej Lingr earned his second assist on the play. Additionally, forward Lawrence Ennali made his return to the pitch in the 81st minute after suffering a knee injury in August last season. Midfielder Duane Holmes also made his home debut for Houston after making his Dynamo debut in New York on May 28.
Two players from Houston’s first team roster received call-ups during the recent June FIFA international window. Midfielder Brooklyn Raines, who is now back with the team, was called up to join the U-20 U.S. Men’s National Team for training camp in Cairo, Egypt, where the squad played two friendlies against Colombia and Egypt. Meanwhile, McGlynn joined the senior U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) for training camp and was subsequently named to the final 26-man roster for two friendlies and the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. Notably, McGlynn started and scored the opening goal in the first friendly against Turkey.
Montréal currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with eight points and a 1-11-5 (WLD) record. The Canadian side enters Saturday’s fixture following a 3-0 home defeat to the New England Revolution on May 31. Prince Owusu leads the team’s attack with four goals and two assists in regular season play.
The Dynamo will look to tie the all-time regular season series with Montréal at eight wins apiece on Saturday. The last meeting between the two sides was on Oct. 4, 2023, when Houston played Montréal to a 1-1 draw behind a goal from Artur. Notably, the Dynamo hold a 7-1-1 (WLD) regular season home record versus the Canadian side.
The Dynamo next travel to face Minnesota United FC on Wednesday, June 25, at Allianz Field. Fans can stream the match via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
