The two sides met earlier this season at Vancouver, where Dos secured a 3-1 victory at Swangard Stadium on April 23. Forwards Stephen Annor, Exon Arzú and Jordy Burbano each scored a goal, while attacker Joshua Bolma made his Dynamo 2 debut as a starter after signing with the team earlier that day.

Dynamo Dos currently sit sixth in the Western Conference with 25 points and a 6-7-4 (WLD) record.

Houston is coming off a 3-0 home victory over in-state rivals North Texas SC on Sunday night behind Annor’s fifth goal of the season, midfielder Sebastian Rodriguez’s third and defender Juan Viveros’ first in MLS NEXT Pro. The result also marked Dos’ third clean sheet of the season and featured midfielder Lionel Gitau’s first professional assist, along with forward Myles Gardner’s first professional start. Additionally, defender Michael Halliday recorded his first MLS NEXT Pro assist.

Notably, the third edition of Goalie Wars at the 2025 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, presented by AT&T, is one week away, as goalkeeper **Pedro** **Cruz** is set to participate in the unique single-elimination tournament at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. So far this season, Cruz has made 15 starts for Dynamo Dos, registering 70 saves (second most in MLS NEXT Pro) and posting a 78.7 save percentage. The shot stopper was also named the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month for April, helping lead the team to a three-game unbeaten streak.

Whitecaps 2 heads into Thursday’s match following a penalty shootout loss to Colorado Rapids 2 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park after the two sides played to a scoreless draw in regulation. They currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with 25 points and a 6-7-4 (WLD) record. Nelson Pierre leads the team in goals with 11 on the season, while Jackson Castro leads the team in distribution with six assists.

Dynamo 2 holds the upper hand in the all-time series against Whitecaps 2, recording three wins and two draws in their previous six regular season encounters. In 2024, both teams matched up on Decision Day, where Houston defeated Vancouver 3-1 to clinch a spot in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro playoffs, marking the team’s third consecutive postseason berth.
